2007 IWK TELETHON

Karen Duthie, Board member of the Atlantic Marine Trades Association and Co-Chair of the Halifax international Boat Show was pleased to present a donation of $6,872 to the IWK Telethon for Children on June 2nd, 2007. Funds for the annual Telethon have been raised each year at the Boat Show since 2001 during the Silent Auction of Marine Equipment and Nautical Accessories. Auction items are generously donated by Boat Show exhibitors and can be anything marine. In the 2007 the over 100 auction items ranged from an inflatable dinghy donated by Seabright Marine to nautical brass clocks to marine pumps, dock accessories, electronics and sailing gear.

The 2007 IWK Telethon for Children raised grand total of $4,871,112 to help buy equipment, fund research and provide special programs like Bilingual
Services and Centre-wide Child Life to benefit Maritime children and their families. More information about the telethon can be found at

The next Silent Auction of Marine Equipment and Nautical Accessories will take place during the Halifax International Boat Show February 21 - 24 2008.
