CANADIAN DISCOVER BOATING MANAGEMENT
BOARD SELECTED

 
 BOLTON, February 27, 2006 – The first meeting of the Canadian Discover Boating Management Board was held January 18, 2006 at the Toronto International Boat Show.
 
The Board will consist of representatives from all participating marine industry associations. Individuals were selected by the Board of Directors of the Partner organizations; each will serve a two-year term on the Canadian Discover Boating Management Board.
 
Board members are: Alan Stovell, Western Marine Ltd. representing BC Marine Trade Association; Jim Flood, Mid-Canada Marine Dealers Association; Scott MacCrimmon, Ed Huck Marine representing the Ontario Marine Operators Association; Yves Paquette, Association Maritime du Quebec; Terry Conrad, Conrad Marine Sales & Service Ltd. Representing the Atlantic Marine Trade Association; Linda Waddell, NMMA Canada and Roy Baird Jr., Les Plaisanciers; Rick Layzell, Yamaha Motor Canada; Lizanne Madigan, Formula Media Group; and Adrian Rushforth, Mercury Marine Limited all representing the Canadian Marine Manufacturers Association.
 
In addition to being appointed to the Canadian Discover Boating Management Board, Scott MacCrimmon was unanimously selected as board Chairman.
 
The Discover Boating Management Board’s purpose is to provide industry input, guidance and direction for the Canadian Discover Boating program’s initiatives.
 
“It is an exciting transitional time for the Discover Boating program in Canada” says newly hired Director of Marketing, Lindsay Rennie. Rennie was introduced to the Board at this meeting. “I look forward to working with the Board to evolve the Discover Boating program and shape the strategy to grow this industry into the future” he said.

The Discover Boating Partnership is a cooperative effort of the Association Maritime du Quebec, Atlantic Marine Trades Association, BC Marine Trades Association, Canadian Marine Manufacturers Association, Mid-Canada Marine Dealers Association, NMMA Canada and the Ontario Marine Operators Association.
